Activated charcoal makes for some gorgeous black soap, but other than the color whats so great about charcoal?

Charcoal can absorb toxins and excess oil from the surface layer of skin. It can also help to remove dead skin cells and unclog pores. The lather of these soaps can range from light grey to black depending on how much charcoal is used in the soaps. It can also be used straight as a colorant in the soap:
